MARCH 2008
We found a new place to go and play this month... Creepy Crawlies in York. It's a fair drive out, but it is well worth it. There is a large seating area and soft-play areas on the inside, and a fantastic play area outside, with massive climbing structures. There are a few animals too. I think this is our new favourite day out. Not only does Callum love it, we do too. There's no pretending your kid needs help just to get up for fun either... adults are actively encouraged to play.
As ever, Callum's Nursery put on a new play. They have one every term. This time it was an Easter theme and Callum was a chick.... He enjoyed it much more that the picture makes it look! I cannot believe that there is only one play to go, then he will leave Nursery. The prospect of him going to full time school looms large, and I'm not looking forward to it!
Time really is flying, it doesn't seem like two minutes since my Mum & Dad closed the caravan up for the winter, be this month sees it opening for the new season. Callum was thrilled to be able to go over and stay. I have vowed that me and Callum will make much more use of it this year as we will start and spend time there when Shaun is working or doing renovations on the house.
On Easter Saturday we were visiting my folks. Luke, Callum's cousin, was staying over and Callum managed to wrangle in and secure his bed for the night too! I was happy that he got an impromptu stay over with Luke, but I was gutted that I missed them playing in the snow first thing Sunday morning. As soon as I saw the snow, I dashed up there, but they were already back in the house, their snowman and snow bunnies were still standing in the garden so I could praise their efforts.
We had some great news from Milton Keynes this month. Lynn phoned to let us know that Anna and Paul's baby had arrived safe and sound. They have had a baby girl and called her Violet. I can't wait to go see the little bundle, I also want to see Anna and tell her just how proud I am of her. Callum is giddy too, he has a new cousin! Shaun and I feel old though when we realise we are now 'Great Auntie' and 'Great Uncle'!!!
